Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how PepRally collects, uses, and shares information when teachers and families use the Service. PepRally accounts are for adults only; information about children is provided to us by their parents, guardians, and teachers.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — Name, email address, role (teacher, co-teacher, parent, or room parent), and classroom membership.
- Child information provided by adults — Information adults choose to share about children, such as a child's first name, classroom, clothing and shoe sizes on a child profile, and photos posted to the classroom feed.
- Content you post — Announcements, events, volunteer sign-ups, messages between parents and teachers, photos, comments, and likes.
- Usage information — Log data, device and browser information, and how you interact with the Service, used to operate, secure, and improve it.
- Cookies — We use cookies and similar technologies as needed to keep you signed in and make the Service work. We do not use advertising cookies.
3. How we use information
- To operate the Service: showing classroom content to the right people, and sending reminders, digests, announcement emails, and in-app notifications.
- To generate supply-list shopping links, including affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and provide support.
- We do not sell personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not use children's information for advertising or marketing.
4. How we share information
Classroom content is visible to members of that classroom — the teacher and approved family members — according to each feature's design. We also share information with service providers that process it on our behalf to run the Service:
- Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage. Photos shared in classrooms are stored in a way that makes them accessible via a private link to approved classroom members.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery.
- Netlify — Application hosting and content delivery.
These providers may only use the information to provide services to us. If you click a shopping link, the retailer (for example, Amazon) receives your visit under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to previously collected information.
5. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow children to create accounts. Child information in PepRally is provided by parents, guardians, and teachers. Parents and guardians may review, update, or request deletion of information about their child at any time by contacting us at hello@peprallyapp.com. If we learn that a child has created an account or that we have collected information directly from a child, we will delete it.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service. When you delete your account or request deletion of specific content — including photos of your child — we will delete it within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup-integrity purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including role-based access controls that restrict classroom content to its members and encryption of data in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
8. Your choices and rights
- Adjust notification settings in the app; core service and account emails continue while your account is active.
- Access, correct, or delete your information using in-app tools or by emailing hello@peprallyapp.com.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law. To exercise any right, email hello@peprallyapp.com and we will respond as required by law.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice.
